Dalam rekaman sejarah lisan ini, Ibu Suryati, seorang putri Orang Rantai, dan Bapak H. Tukino, keponakan Orang Rantai, berbagi cerita mereka. Tonton juga video Bapak Roni Hendro Susilo yang berbagi cerita tentang penemuan rantai tahanan.
During the colonial period, people from across the archipelago were brought to work in the coal mines of Sawahlunto. These workers were often placed in chains and stripped of their humanity, given numbers instead of names. The chained people were not just 'criminals' but victims of a harsh colonial system. Despite the difficulties they faced, these individuals struggled to make a better life for themselves and their families. This theme sheds light on their stories through the experiences of their descendants.
In this oral history recording, Ibu Suryati, the daughter of a ‘chained person’, and Bapak H. Tukino, the nephew of a ‘chained person’, share their experiences.
